Where each covered source sits
Leaning is editorial shorthand, not a truth rating — even "center" sites make choices. Use it to triangulate: if only one side of the spectrum covers a story, that says something too.
Scan the archive for a topic
Type a topic and this scans the whole archive — its count updates live from the data files — and reports which sources covered it, how many pieces each ran, and a few headlines to read. No login, runs entirely in your browser.
Which way does an article lean?
Drop in a URL or paste the text. The checker reads the piece and reports a lean — liberal, conservative, or center — with the confidence behind it and the phrases that drove the call. It tries Cloudflare AI first (this site needs no API key); if it can't reach the model it runs a local framing engine over the same text, so the tool always answers.

Every tool on this page runs against the static files this site ships. Headlines and source names come from news_archive.json, baked at compile time from your feed keys — no upstream API calls at page load, so nothing quietly changes between builds. Bias labels are editorial shorthand; triangulate, then trust.
